The festival of Gangaur celebrates the union of Shiva & Parvati, and is associated with fertility and conjugal bliss. In Jaipur, Goddess Gauri travels through the city in a grand procession, involving the participants in a riot of colour, music, food and festivity.
This is undoubtedly one of the best times to visit Jaipur, and revel in the city’s markets which flow to the brim for this important festival.
