Learn about teachings of the Buddha, and offer your prayers at some important centres of Buddhism in Delhi, at this special walk being organised on the auspicious night of Buddha Purnima, the birth anniversary of the Buddha.<\/p>\n

The Buddha Jayanti Park, set in the beautiful environs of the Delhi ridge was created to commemorate the\u00a02500th anniversary of Buddha’s enlightenment. Besides being a lush and verdant green space, the park also\u00a0houses a statue of Buddha and a Bodhi tree.<\/p>\n

Ladakh Buddhist Vihar, close to ISBT, by the banks of the Yamuna, houses a beautiful Buddhist temple, as well\u00a0as a hustling\u2010bustling market of woolen and other readymade clothes.<\/p>\n

Not very far from the Vihar, the charming Tibetan colony at Majnu ka Tila is like a recreation of another world,\u00a0another place in the city of Delhi. Narrow criss\u2010crossing streets house markets and shops selling Tibetan crafts,\u00a0jewellery, books and the place abounds with eateries serving authentic Tibetan food. It also houses a small\u00a0monastery.<\/p>\n

Itinerary<\/strong>
\n4 pm \u2013 Collect at Dilli Haat
\n4.45 pm \u2013 Reach Buddha Jayanti Park. Explore the gardens, and pay homage to Buddha statue
\n5.30 pm \u2013 Leave for Ladakh Buddhist Vihar, visit monastery and markets.
\n7 pm \u2013 Reach Majnu ka Tila. Explore markets and monastery. Dinner and Tibetan beer!
\n8.30 pm \u2013 Leave for Dilli Haat
\n9 pm \u2013 Walk ends at Dilli Haat<\/p>\n
