Exploring the beautiful world of Indian textiles, this walk will be an adventure in discovering myriad traditional and contemporary textile expressions.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We begin with a visit to designer Sanjay Garg\u2019s studio, who will walk us through his inspiration, & design process. Garg has led an interest in the continuing relevance of hand-crafted textiles in a changing world. The sylvan surroundings of his Chattarpur studio will form the perfect canvas for a relaxed December morning soaking in various collections of Chanderi and Banaras sarees from his label, Raw Mango (www.rawmango.in<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Through a packed lunch en-route, we arrive at Hauz Khas village, fashion designer Ruchika Sachdev\u2019s charming new destination, BODICE. Her young label has taken the Indian design scene by storm, presenting international collections using innovative Indian handmade textiles. (www.bodice.co.in<\/a>)<\/p>\n

We end the long afternoon with a special viewing of an exquisite collection of antique textiles, at KRISHNA AT CHAUPAL. Collectors Nalin Tomar and Mahijit Singh will show us a range of hand-painted and dyed textiles from India and south-east Asia, from 17th<\/sup> century to 20th<\/sup> century. Guests will get a chance to see the growth of a particular genre of textiles like Kalamkari, over centuries, and understand the evolution of styles and stylistic designs.<\/p>\n
