“As long as there was coffee in the world, how bad could things be?” * Cassandra Clare, City of Ashes
—-The 1100 Coffee walk celebrates this extraodinary stimulator and sets out to indulge in its many forms as extant in the city of Delhi. Learn more about coffee! Share, ideate!
—-Start the morning by exploring the city’s oldest coffee homes, really the breathing coffee history of the city. We start the session with a breathtaking terrace top coffee breakfast at India Coffee House (since 1950s) in Connaught Place, a fragile stalwart of the city.
—-The basic ambience of the ICH has a plusher counterpart in United Coffee House, Connaught Place (since 1940s), where you can revel in their specialities, like the elaborate, sexy and creamy Cona Coffee.
—-Throw in a South Indian filter style coffee, accessorised with Southie snacks at Saravana Bhawan, again in CP, and our coffee universe expands…
—-From Connaught Place, we move southwards, and hit Khanna Market, Lodhi Road to visit Devan’s (since 1960s), a speciality coffee boutique to shop for some mean beans!
—-Ah wait, let’s end the walk with one more coffee, and some sweets – a Turkish coffee with baklavas at Kunafa, Meharchand Market? Ho jaaye? Are you game?
